e.l.f Mineral Eco-Friendly Brushes

New Year new... brushes? ELF have launched a new range of brushes that are eco- friendly.

All of the brushes use antibacterial Taklon bristles that are 100% cruelty free, luxuriously soft and can be used with cream or powder products. The handles are made out of natural and sustainable bamboo, and are ergonomically designed to fit in your hand for comfort and precise application. The recycled ferrule that joins the handle to the bristles is eco-friendly for guilt-free beauty.

They are super soft and light weight and glide across your face with dragging for a flawless finish. These are called 'mineral' brushes but I dont use mineral make up and have had just as good results with them. I love the ELF brushes, I have some from the standard line and studio line so couldnt wait to get my hands on these ones. They are really well priced from £5.50. Im no expert when it comes to brushes but I have never gone in search of more expensive ones in the hope that they would do a better job. I am always more than happy with the ELF range.

Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care

I'm sure its no suprise to read that my hair is coloured. I know, shocker right?!

I have dyed my hair since I was about 14 and havent been 'natural' since. I honestly couldnt tell you my natural hair colour but at a guess its a medium brown. During my red phase late last year I tried a million and one products to keep the vibrant just dyed redness. It was hard work. Red looks different in natural or artificial light and I couldnt ever get the shade of red I wanted. In the end I gave up with the red and reverted back to dark where I will stay until my hair reaches a condition that is worthy of some attention!

In my quest for colour shampoo love I found Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care range. With a shampoo, conditioner and intensive mask in the range, I managed to keep my hair looking as best it could without fading too quickly. The range contains proteins and an anti fade complex. The products are thick and feel lovely to use. The mask being my favourite has a thick consistency which coats your hair and leaves it hydrated and shiny.

If you want to fight the fade, you should try this range!

Organic Surge Overnight Sensation Night Cream

Night creams I believe are one of the best products I could use for my skin. I love the feeling of slapping it on freshly cleansed skin then crawling into bed to awake with fresh, soft, moisturised skin. My favourite is Organic Surge Overnight Sensation Night Cream. I loved the Organic Surge range before I tried this one so i already knew I was onto a winner. The name speaks for itself really. Its quite light compared to some creams that take a while to work in but is slightly thicker than their day cream version (which I also love!).

The non offensive smell wont keep you awake but will leave you feeling fresh and ready to hit the pillow. This is love for your skin, in a pot!

Lee Stafford 'I hate my hair the day it's washed'

Hands up who loves their hair the day its washed?....No, no one? As i suspected. Dont get me wrong, I love my hair the day its washed... but not till the end of the day when its calmed down and manageable. As usual Lee Stafford has a solution! The 'I hate my hair the day it's washed' spray means you can have 'second day' hair but 'first day' clean. You dry your hair as normal then spray this little gem on and you're left with manageable locks without the frizz, flyaway hair.

What do I love most about this? The fact that it doesnt weigh down my hair, I dont have to wash it more often and I can get on with my day without worrying that my hair will go fluffy when I step outside the house! A few spritz to my hair and I'm good to get on with my day.

You need this in your life! As always you can buy yours from Boots!

Max Factor Xperience Mascara

I love mascara. There's no getting away from it. Give me luscious lashes and i'm on board! Two of my favourites are Max Factor False Lash effect and Lash Extension effect. They have a new mascara in their lineup! From their new xperience range, introducing Max Factor Xperience Mascara.

I would describe the results as a mixture between false lash and lash extension. If you want length, volume and a good coating of product, this is for you. You get a good hit of colour without getting stiff, dry lashes. This is great for daytime but add a couple of extra coats for a night look. This mascara enhances your natural curl so you can still flutter.

Get yours from Boots now!

Jergens Naturals

As America’s best-selling body care range, Jergens Naturals is a brand I have always seen but never thrown in my basket.
I tried it for the first time recently and have to say it did the job. It sunk in really quickly and kept my skin hydrated despite the harsh weather and central heating. The smell is subtle and non-offensive and comes in a pump bottle so no wasting your product. This is made from 96% matural ingredients and contains Jojoba oil

A product that does as it promises for a price that you can afford. You can buy Jergens from most supermarkets.

Jo Hansford Intensive Masque - Fine Hair

Fine hair is a nightmare to live with. If you want lifeless, lackluster thin hair... welcome to my world! I try an array of products to boost volume or thickness including Jo Hansford Intensive Masque for fine hair. The masque is designed for fine hair so it won’t leave it flat or weighed down by product. It has a thick, marshmallow consistency that glides through your hair coating it with a layer or loveliness. Containing Keratin Amino Acids and vitamins A & E it leaves your hair glossy and under control. No fly away fine hair, just a thickness boost to get you through. This boost lasts a couple of washes too so you don’t need to use this masque every time you wash your hair. The packaging is sleek and simple but at £25 this is an investment for your hair which will definitely pay off.

There is also a thick hair version for those lucky ones out there! You can get yours from Harvey Nichols & Fenwicks.

The Sanctuary Spa - Therapist Secret Facial Oil

One product I have always admired from afar is facial oil. I always thought it would be too much for my skin and I would end up with out of control oily skin. How wrong I was. I have had The Sanctuary Therapists Secret Facial Oil on my bathroom shelf for a while. I used it once and didnt love it. Maybe I just wasnt paying enough attention or my skin was just going through a (very rare) good patch.

A month or so ago my skin was a mess, constant central heating and hardsh winter weather had caused dry patches that wouldnt react to exfoliation, moisturiser or anything in between. In a last ditch attempt to have movie star skin, I reached for the facial oil. I cleansed, toned and oiled up one night saying a little prayer as I fell asleep that this would be the answer. I awoke, washed my face as normal and was greeted with no dryness, just smooth moisturised and nourished skin. I honestly felt like I had woken up to someone elses skin, not the mess I had been trying to revive for the last couple of weeks. Since my discovery I have been treating my skin to an overnight oil-fest once a week to keep my skin fresh, moisturised and nourished.

You only need a small amount of the oil each time on freshly cleansed skin, the bottle will last you a long time! The pippette dispenser while make sure you dont over decant! This is a must have for me.

You can get yours from The Sanctuary or Boots.
