The Sanctuary Spa - Richmond

You all know my love for The Sanctuary Spa. I am always made to feel so welcome and relaxed whether I am booking in for a treatment or asking about a product. I recently was lucky enough to visit one of their new city spas. Off I went to Richmond to find this little hideaway in the centre of town. Right in the middle of the hustle & bustle of daily life was the Sanctuary sign. They should have a tag line 'enter heaven here>>>>'

The front of the spa is the shop showcasing their products then you follow the stairs passed the beautiful water feature and into the maze of treatment rooms, lounges & changing rooms. Its peaceful, tranquil & hidden which means you can wander round in your robe with no mobile phone or email to distract you.

The spa offers all of your favourite treatments including some new ones for example the Lava Shell Massage. This spa is great if you can only spare a couple of hours. You are surrounded by shops and restaurants too so you can treat yourself to some new garms on the way home, Richmond Park & the train station is a 10 minute walk away too.

For a slice of heaven in the city, visit here and book in today.

Revlon AW10 Matte Lips

Change of season not only means new clothes... its time for new make up too! AW normally means darker hues which scream autumn. Revlon have launched their new range which includes so matte lipsticks. The good thing (for me) with the matte look, is that it will tone don the colour making it more wearable, and if I dont fancy the finish, I can just add a gloss over the top. I like that they are still creamy and non drying so you can easily wear them alone.

Introducing Smoked Peach & Stormy Pink

Mavala Scrub Cream... a must have...

Summer for me means a mini pedi at home every week. Its like a little treat that happens even when the sun isnt here! This year I have been loving Mavala Scrub Cream. It has the consistency of a cream with the exfoliating power. The cream means it doesnt dry out your already dry skin, moisturising while exfoliating! The seaweed microparticles elimintae dry and rough skin.
The product clings to your foot while you are using it which I love. You know when some scrubs literally fall off and you end up using a whole tube in one application? Not with this little one. My tootsies are left smooth, clean and moisturised ready for some polish. The tube itself lasts for what seems like ever but is still small enough to put n your travel bag. Love it.

Liz Earle Haircare

I was pretty excited when I found out Liz Earle was launching a hair range. I have dabbled in her products before and have liked them so I had high hopes for the range. I wasnt disappointed.
In the range is a shampoo which covers all hair types, then you chose the conditioner to suit you. Me? I'm dry an damaged! There is also a conditioner for 'normal' and 'oily' hair too. As with Liz, you can bet that the shampoo is SLS/SLES free and contains naturally derived cleansers such as Vitamin E, aloe vera, and West African shea butter. It even contains apple & orange extracts to restore shine (and make it smell nice!) Some SLS free shampoos are quite hard to work with because of the lack of lather, this isnt the case with Liz. It lathers enough to give a good clean but not a fake lather like you've used fairy liquid. The conditioner has the same texture as the hot cloth cleanser, creamy but not too watery.

The products are really lovely to use. My hair is left clean, soft and flowy. I really like them, I just cant put my finger on the 'deal breaker' though but everyone I have spoken to that has used it, loves it too.
I guess its like what everyone says, when you find the one, you just know...

Lee Stafford Bleach Blonde

When I decided to go back to blonde again, I had completely forgotten about the dull and brassiness you can get. I tweeted to see what products were good to tone and boost my blonde between hightlight appointments. Lots of you came back with Lee Stafford's blonde range as well as some salon brands. I thought I would start with the cheapest and most accessible! I gave Lee Stafford a try and loved it!

There is a shampoo & conditioner as well as hot shots for a big boost. It claims to turn your brass bleach into icy white. You know what? It works. I used a hot shot along with the toning shampoo & conditioner and looked like I had just had my hightlights done. I thought that this would bring out my roots more but even my roots were lighter. Love love love!! Because of the way this range works, you cant use the hot shots and shampoo on every wash but you dont need to. I use the shampoo once every week/2 weeks when I fancy a boost and the hot shot once a month. The best part is people asking if I had my hair coloured...nope, just freshly washed!

What do you do to keep your blonde from going brassy??

Vichy Normaderm

Vichy have launched a new moisturiser which contains 3 peeling acids; salicylic acid, glycolic acid & LHA(a L'Oreal patented acid to micro-exfoliate) all of which target imperfections but hydrate your skin. It keeps your skin matte and reduces oil and shine.
I have been using this each morning after cleansing. It smells fresh, sinks in really quickly and doesnt leave any excess product behind so you can apply it and within 2-3 mins, you can apply your foundation. You only need one pump. My favourite thing about this is the peeling acids. They arent harsh so your skin wont need any downtime but they remove any dry skin so your foundation applies smoothly. Any hormonal spots I have had have cleared in 2 days which for me is amazing. I have seen a reduction in scar redness too. I have rececntly acquired conbination skin which is a bit of a nightmare but this has really helped. It keeps my face from becoming oily for longer but also hydrates enough so keep my dry areas moisturised. This has been a bit of a winner for me this summer. I'm not sure how it will perform when it gets colder though. I have found that I havent needed to exfoliate while using this. I have only been exfoliating when I want a really deep clean rather than to remove dead cells.
You can gets yours from Boots now.

Pantene Aqua Light

You know when you go on holiday and the water makes your skin and hair so soft, which equals glowing skin and conditioned hair...I've found a product range to recreate that soft light hair feeling.

Pantene Aqua Light is a range that is lightweight and nourishing so you get a really good clean but also your hair is left feeling conditioned. Lots of 'light' or 'daily' shampoos tend to leave your hair wanting a bit of love. This range gives it all. Included in the range is a Nourishing Treatment and a Nourishing Mist. So even if you do love that bit extra in your conditioning routine, this still offers it.

I've been trying to put my finger on the smell but I cant describe it. Its clean, fresh and I cant stop sniffing! The shampoo lathers amazingly well so less it completely more! I tend to shampoo, leave it for a minute to boost my roots then condition. The winning product in the range for me it a tie between the shampoo and the nourishing mist. As a bottle blonde, I am getting to the dry stage where my ends are feeling over proccessed so the mist has been a god send before styling. You can use this on dry hair too, although I havent tried this as my fine hair would just go lank and a bit blugh. But I will be trying this just to check!

This would be a great range for holiday when you tend to wash your hair more than usual. You can get yours from any good supermarket or drugstore.

Bath or Shower...

When it comes to bath and shower time(not both in one go!), I like luxury. I want warm to hot water, bubbles, lovely smelling products, peace & quiet, and a warm fluffy towel to wrap up in afterwards. Shower gel and bath products need to be on tap for me. I like creamy, foamy and subtle smells but I also love fruity, refreshing gels.

Some of my favourites are;
The Body Shop, Sweet Lemon shower gel Fruity, no offensive disinfectant smell, just sherbert lemons all the way!

Dove Cream Oil Bath Luxury for my skin. Its foams well and has that dove smell that I cant resist.

Dove Visible Care So thick it looks like moisturiser. Thick and creamy although it doesnt work so well as bubbles! This feels like a real treat.

Palmolive Milk & Honey I first used this years ago on holiday so everytime I use it, the memories come flooding back!

Eye Creams...

Eye Creams are something I wish I had started using years ago. I am convinced these are the secret to stay looking fresh and battle the signs of ageing. Over the last few months I have started using an eyecream day and night as part of my routine rather than when I remember or have one infront of me. Some are good, some are ok and some I like. I dont have much experience with them but if I get compliments for looking 'well' I know its because of my eyes! Eyes are always the give away!
So first up, L'Oreal Youth Code. I picked this up around easter time and it set me back around £15. I use this in the mornings as its hydrates well, but I dont feel its thick enough to work its magic at night. It sinks in well so I dont have to wait hours before applying my make up.

loreal eye cream

Benefit EyeCon left me a bit disappointed when I used it on its own. Its reduces the appearancec of dark circles but you can't use this as a moisturiser for the eye contour, it just doesnt perform in that way. I have had this for a year and used it on and off. Its not part of my morning routine. I use this on my dark circles in particular along with Youth Code. This retails at £22.50.

Time Bomb Smart Balm Eye Cream. Again one to reverse the effects of sleep deprivation, which lets face it, twitter should send out to all their users!! It contains Omega-6 to leave you skin toned and tight. Liquorice to target dark circles too! This is more of an all in one cream, although I favour this for morning, I would use it at night too. This one gives the most instant refreshing effects. Once you apply it, you know about it. Its fresh and cooling. The little pot means I can throw it in my bag too. RRP is £20.

time bomb smart balm

Garnier Ultralift eyecream is my favourite. I first saw this raved about on Vexandthecity's blog. Next time I passed the shops, I went on the hunt for this. At the time Garnier was on offer 2 for £12 so I picked up this and the matching night cream. A little goes a long way with this one meaning you wont get through the tube in a month. The price when it isnt on ofer is £9 so it wont break the bank. You could use this for day time but I prefer it for night.

Whats your fav eyecream?? What should I try next?
